3/16/2023 0 Comments Talsgar the wanderer![]() ![]() Skyrim was and remains memorable for the varied multitude of experiences the player can have within the game, but what exactly makes a moment stand out? In some cases it was the frozen, northern landscapes that captured a light, fragile sort of beauty. Skyrim was more than a game it was an experience that rocked the gaming world and became one of the most iconic, indelible games ever created. In this frigid country of mountains, magic, and dragons, the player was free to do as they pleased, to bend their gaming experience to their will, and to rise above the elements and all other monumental obstacles put in their way. And by "a little game," I mean a sprawling, incredibly detailed fantasy RPG that was so massive it actually felt like the whole other world it sought to create. On November 11th, 2011, Bethesda released a little game called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. ![]() It commands attention and is so wholly engrossing that a player can get lost in it without even noticing and, the next thing they know, several hours have passed and the real world has moved on around them. Every once in a while, though, a game comes along that stops gamers in their tracks and demands to be played. That's quite the list Gotta admit I'm drawing a blank with most of these names, but I do remember some of them, like Balgruuf, Bersi, Brunwulf, Oengul and that super-annoying Heimskr, and when I think about it, it's true, they all share the same voice.Gamers try out lots of games, some good, some bad, some which leave behind such a bitter, unfulfilling taste that we wish we could go back in time and stop ourselves from ever buying them in the first place. Wasn't he the one who voiced Vilkas from the Companions?Īpparently he did the voices of Acolyte Jenssen, Alvor, Arnskar Ember-Master, Balgruuf the Greater, Barknar, Beirand, Belrand, Bersi Honey-Hand, Bolund, Brunwulf Free-Winter, Calder, Falk Firebeard, Filnjar, Fultheim the Fearless, Golldir, Gorm, Hadring, Hafnar Ice-Fist, Heimskr, Hjorunn, Hod, Hunroor, Jon Battle-Born, Jorn, Kjar, Kjeld, Korir, Kraldar, Kust, Kyr, Lodvar, Lortheim, Lucky Lorenz, Odar, Oengul War-Anvil, Ogmund, Pactur, Phantom, Ralis Sedarys, Ralof, Rissing, Roggi Knot-Beard, Roggvir, Skaggi Scar-Face, Skulvar Sable-Hilt, Sond, Svaknir, Talsgar the Wanderer, Thalmor Prisoner, Thjollod, Thongvor Silver-Blood, Thonnir, Thorek, Thorgar, Torkild the Fearsome, Ulfgar the Unending, Vekel the Man, Viding, Vilkas, Vilod, Vipir the Fleet, Vulwulf Snow-Shod, Wilhelm. I'm pretty sure that Shalidor's voice actor was in Skyrim already. I just think they thought she's be an NPC of no consequence and hardly noticed. Now that I now that these same exact words have been said to somebody else before. She annoyed the hell out of me, but she also always made me feel special - like I was the sole purpose of her existence, to a point where she had to stalk me across town just to tell me how long she's been looking for me. But to just copy and paste a line that already existed is. Don't quite remember which zone, but it's definitely part of the main game, while Stuga belongs to the Orsinium DLC.Īlso, it is one thing to use a voice actor for more than one character, I mean, given the sheer amount of different characters that we come across in this game, anything else would have been difficult. It must've been the other way around, though, since that quest is part of a vanilla zone questline in DC. Devs copied the Stuga voice over to some less important side quest NPC as cost effective solution. If you looked at the voice cast list, you will see that some actors voiced several different characters, all the same applies vice versa. ![]() What is so unusual for NPC's to share same voice overs. ![]()
